The 2024 15s season is in full swing, with exciting performances and hard-fought battles across the board!
The season began with the Fuusio team, a collaboration of players from WaLi, HRC, and Kalev, securing an impressive 86-0 win against Kiuru. For many players, this was their first 15s game, making the victory especially thrilling. Fuusio continued their strong start with a 20-15 win against Potku. Although they had to forfeit their rematch against Potku (resulting in a 24-0 loss), they bounced back with a decisive 58-0 win over Kiuru, placing them at the top of their division.
WRC Men’s 1st Team has been on an extraordinary run, showcasing their strength throughout the season. They opened with a dominant 64-7 win against Turku Eagles, followed by victories over Porvoo (38-21), HRC (22-5), Kalev (24-0), and Tampere (66-7). Their momentum continued with another win against Porvoo (33-7), a hard-fought 46-32 triumph over Kalev in Tallinn, and a 67-12 victory in the rematch with Turku Eagles. Their latest success, a 31-12 win against HRC, has secured their spot in the finals. They’ll face Tampere in Myllypuro this Saturday, and a victory will give them an invincible league phase.
WaLi Women have had a commendable season, especially considering the team is new and working under a new coach. They started with a 10-10 draw against Turku Swans and, despite a challenging road to the semifinals, have shown tremendous growth and resilience. After a 44-7 loss to HRC and a 22-22 draw against Jyväskylä, WaLi fought hard in a 22-13 defeat to Tampere. They rebounded with a solid 41-12 win over Karjala Sharks, followed by a 22-5 victory in their rematch against Jyväskylä and a 24-0 forfeit win against Karjala Sharks. WaLi's standout performance came with a 62-10 win against Turku, and even in their recent 17-7 loss to HRC, they managed to deny their opponents a crucial bonus point. Reaching the semifinals is a fantastic achievement for this young team, and they'll look to finish strong in their upcoming home game against Tampere.
WRC Men’s 2nd Team has faced a challenging season, struggling with player numbers, but they finally broke their losing streak with a solid 33-10 victory against HRC M2.
